  • Salary: $61,479 - $69,101 p.a. plus 10.5% Super
  • Fixed Term Contract until February 2024
  • Access to Council’s variable working hours.

Provide advice and administer and implement WHS improvements across the whole of City Lifestyles as directed by the Director – City Lifestyles.

About the role

This is fixed term contract until February 2024, working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm) and is based at either the Ulladulla Leisure Centre or Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre (Bomaderry). 

Duties

Reporting directly to the Precinct Coordinator - Programs & Assets, the focus of this position is to:

  • Administer and implement WHS improvements across the department by,
    • Promotion of a positive safety culture
    • Ongoing review of safety documentation
    • Facilitate meetings, inspections, and workshop
    • Liaison with Sporting Groups and management Committees
    • Simplifying WHS processes
  • Work with the Precinct Coordinator – Programs & Assets to facilitate Council’s WHS System requirements in your designated work area through site visits, formal group meetings and workshops, ensuring employees are involved and consulted with.
  • Conduct relevant site inspections, audits and hazard detection, and facilitate prompt remedial actions as required, monitoring and reviewing for effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Council’s Safety team to ensure that WHS policies and Systems are effectively implemented.

Skills & Experience

In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • A Certificate 4 in Work Health and Safety or Risk Management
  • Previous experience in a Work Health and Safety or Risk Management role
  • Current WorkSafe Construction Induction card
  • Demonstrated ability to implement change in processes and culture/ safety and to coach for an improved safety performance
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety processes and practice
  • Demonstrated effective time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to balance competing workloads and deliver within deadlines.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to negotiate successful outcomes
  • Ability to use relevant industry software and applications
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
