About the Role
Wingecarribee Shire Council is establishing a new Parks and Buildings team within our Assets branch. This offers a wonderful opportunity to bring your asset and recreational management experience and your passion to work as part of this new team to help Council move forward in the effective planning and management of our Parks and Buildings assets.
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Asset Officer - Community Projects to manage the applications to Carry Out Works on Council Property (ATCOW), as submitted by community organisations. In this role you will engage with the community in review of the applications received and in the drafting of concept and detailed infrastructure drawings associated with Council's assets and facilities. You will be required to give input and comment regarding architectural/building projects effecting council assets and projects. This role also supports the team in undertaking inspections of Council's assets to determine condition and compliance.

About You
Are you looking for that next step in your career or a new challenge to embark on? Are you working towards a Degree qualification in asset management, recreational planning, land management or related discipline? Then this role could be what you have been waiting for.
* A strong desire to be part of a team that is planning and delivering on the needs of the community and a willingness to communicate, influence and negotiate effectively with all levels of Council and the community is pivotal. Your strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise to meet competing deadlines coupled with your working knowledge of Work, Health and Safety and risk management practices is key to this role.
* Possession of a valid White Card, previous experience in the construction and maintenance of parks and building assets and extensive exposure to capital project scoping and cost estimating relating to parks and buildings assets is essential.
* Competency in the use of AutoCAD and SketchUp software and an understanding of the Building Code of Australia, SEPP (Infrastructure and Exempt and Complying) and Building Classifications will ensure your success.
* Demonstrated experience in developing, updating and maintaining Asset Management Systems and experience in using GIS geospatial databases and software for producing maps will be well regarded.
