Bush Regenerator - Gardener

Salary: AUD $70,701.00 per annum plus Superannuation 

Employment status: Permanent / Full Time

Option to work under a 19-day month arrangement

 

The City of Sydney is a capital city council and our Local Government area covers approximately 26 square kilometres within the Sydney metropolitan area. The City is responsible for the commercial, financial and cultural hub of the greater Sydney area. The City’s parks and open spaces are an important urban asset that can transform the City’s streets and provide environmental, aesthetic, cultural and economic benefits.

 

The City is seeking a qualified Bush Regenerator to join the dedicated Parks and Trees team to care for 90 hectares of trees in parks, gardens and open spaces. These spaces also play a very important role in supporting biodiversity as they provide much of the habitat necessary to enable plants and animals to survive.

 

You will have the following:

  • Certificate III in Conservation & Land Management or Certificate III in Natural Area Restoration
  • demonstrated experience and capacity to deliver bush regeneration projects, including site preparation, revegetation, weed control and best practice maintenance in the Sydney region
  • strong plant identification skills including native and weed species of the Sydney region
  • demonstrated experience in managing freshwater wetland vegetation
  • current NSW recognised Drivers Licence.

 

Certificate III in horticulture and Chainsaw user’s accreditation is desirable.
