THE POSITION: The Construction and Maintenance Division is looking for a highly motivated professional tradesperson to join our Building Trades team as a Sign Writer.
You will be responsible for organising ordering materials and managing sub-contractors. You will apply Sign Writing skills to complete day to day general and planned preventative maintenance, repairs and servicing to Fairfield City Council’s facilities, vehicles, road work signs, fixtures and assets, to ensure a high standard of workmanship.
You will need to be highly skilled, organised, efficient, and able to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines. An understanding of WHS Management is essential and your attention to detail and “can do” attitude will greatly assist you in this role.

ESSENTIAL:
• Experience in all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook), including email and internet as well as databases.
• Demonstrated experience using Flexi Sign Pro or similar
• WHS General Construction Induction Card (Whitecard)
• Certificate III in Signs and Graphics or equivalent
• Completion of an apprenticeship and 2 years post apprenticeship experience in Sign Writing
• Current Drivers Licence Class C

DESIRABLE:
• Traffic control
• Asbestos Handling and Disposal Awareness Training
• Working at Heights
• HIAB Experience
• MR licence or willingness to obtain


SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
• Permanent position, 76 hours per fortnight
• This position is a Grade D, salary range is $63,901 p.a. with progression to $70,537 p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $74,850 p.a. plus 10.5% superannuation.
