The Management Accounting Lead reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and part of the Finance Leadership Team. This position leads a small team of professionals accountable for ongoing measurement and reporting of Council’s financial performance. This encompasses satisfying statutory Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) deliverables.

Critically, the role is focussed on developing and enhancing collaborative business partnering with internal stakeholders to improve financial acumen and achieve improved financial outcomes for Council. Internal and external performance reporting must be supplemented by “at the elbow” support and training for the Executive, managers, supervisors and others with budget and financial responsibility.

The role is also responsible for administration and enhancement of Council’s corporate financial system including identification of improved system solutions for users to deliver their objectives.

Working directly with the leadership team at Willoughby City Council, this is an exciting opportunity to be directly involved in the ongoing enhancement of Council’s Financial Strategy and optimisation of Council’s financial outcome

To be successful in this role, you will have Tertiary Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; Demonstrated extensive experience in management and financial accounting; and proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff in a team environment.
