With a current budget of $222.1M and a workforce of over 500 staff, we are looking for a motivated and skilled Finance Manager who, working closely with our newly appointed CFO, wants to help shape the culture, strategy, sustainability, performance and reputation of Council’s financial operations.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for 22 staff within the Finance Team who deliver financial services. This includes financial accounting (including a lead role in budgeting), rates and revenue, asset accounting, and grants.
To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate well developed financial skills in the above areas as well as being an inspirational and collaborative leader committed to developing people and creating an inclusive and accountable working environment.
This position is based in Emerald, located in the heart of the Bowen Basin. The region attracts families who enjoy exploring some of Australia’s most stunning natural features including the Carnarvon Gorge, Blackdown Tablelands and the Peak Downs Ranges. With over 60,000 sq kms and 33,000 residents, the region has something to offer everyone and is serviced daily by major airlines into Emerald Airport.
