We are on the look out for a motivated Road Safety Officer to join our multidisciplinary Traffic and Transport Unit. This team is responsible for strategic and integrated traffic and transport planning, road user safety, infrastructure planning and delivery, participating on traffic and active transport committees, and providing specialist advice to internal and external customers. We have a strong customer focus and working collaboratively across agencies and in consultation with the Community to deliver our Community Strategic Plan.

This position offers you the opportunity to coordinate the development, implementation and promotion of an effective Community Road User Safety Program. You will foster existing partnerships with community groups and government agencies including Transport for NSW (TfNSW), Police and schools. You will also play a crucial role in assisting the Project team be ready for the 2022 UCI Road World Championships (UCI) in September.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Minimum Tertiary qualitification in a relevant field
  • Experience working closely with community groups in the development of road safety promotions
  • Ability to develop, implement and promote effective community road safety programs
  • A strong team focus and the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

This position is full time and currently funded up to 30 June 2025. Extension to this term will be subject to recurrent funding, performance and operational requirements. We are a flexible employer and will consider flexible working arrangements if required.
