The Northern Midlands Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced applicants to fill the role of Community & Development Manager.
This is a full-time position, based in Longford, Tasmania and terms and conditions of employment, including remuneration will be in accordance with the Northern Midlands Council Enterprise Agreement 2019-2022.
The successful applicant will be responsible for and manage Council’s Community and Development Department, which includes various regulatory functions, such as building, planning and compliance.

Our ideal candidate will have the ability to manage, lead, coach and motivate others; have a high level of verbal and written communication skills; have excellent interpersonal skills; time management and organisational skills; strong negotiation and problem-solving skills and demonstrated proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite.
For your application to be considered, our preference is for applicants to have tertiary qualifications in Planning, or a solid understanding of regulatory functions and the frameworks relating to these. Applicants must have demonstrated people management experience in a similar position. A working knowledge and understanding of applicable Tasmanian legislation and a current driver’s licence are also prerequisites.
