About the opportunity    

We are looking for a leader to provide advice and representation on environmental management planning and strategies, waste management and education, sustainable cities and emergency management. With tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management or a related field, our ideal candidate will have high level interpersonal and communication skills, and practical experience working with industry to achieve community focused environmental outcomes.

Leading our Open Space and Outdoor Workforce teams, this role is responsible for overseeing Council's waste management services and associated contracts, delivering projects to improve liveability and sustainability of our municipality, and working effectively with government and our community.

We are looking for a constructive leader to contribute to the City Growth and Operations leadership team as well as the broader City of Palmerston Senior Leadership team, driving improvements to culture, employee satisfaction, accountability and staff empowerment. The successful candidate will lead and exemplify our customer ethos.
