The City of Sydney is seeking a highly skilled, dynamic and motivated Head of Business Operations, to join our Major Events and Festivals Team.
The Major Events and Festivals team delivers the City's Cultural Plan through a series of large scale, major public and cultural events including Sydney New Year's Eve, Sydney Chinese New Year, Sydney Christmas, Art & About, and Capital Works launch events.
The purpose of this position is to lead and manage all major events and festival unit business operations in order to successfully plan, manage and deliver the annual calendar of major events produced by the City of Sydney and the business unit.
The Major Events business operations include: strategic business unit planning and development, finance including annual budgeting and ongoing management and procurement requirements; legal and governance requirements; commercial and compliance obligations; negotiation of significant contracts; management of staffing resources; and all other administrative systems and processes associated with the business unit and implementation of the major events and festivals portfolio.
Working with the Executive Producer and an experienced major event's senior management team, you will have demonstrated experience working successfully with cross functional teams, outstanding planning and communications skills, leadership, mentoring and management experience, strategic business operations and management skills, finance, procurement, legal and contracting and high level administration experience.
The Head of Business Operations will support the Executive Producer to build a team culture that is resilient and adaptive to change, with a commitment to good governance and public benefit.
