The Opportunity

A new and exciting role has become available for an Event Coordinator in the Regional Events Branch. The position will be for a twelve (12) month contract.

The Event Coordinator will play a key role in the implementation of Council's event strategy and delivery of Council's key events within the organisation. During the contract period, the position will be responsible for delivering an NRL premiership game, the DREAM festival, Council's Civic receptions and events, and other smaller events as required.

As a core member of the Regional Events team, the Event Coordinator ensures that Council's delivered events is reflective of the community, delivered strategically, sustainability and assists to create an event brand for the region. 

A strong understanding of marketing, in particular social media platforms, to ensure the success of the large public events will be a key element of the role.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Diploma in Event Management or significant experience in the events industry and the delivery of events;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Strong working knowledge of Work Health and Safety and Risk Management; and
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing public events using various forms of media.

We are looking for a person with exceptional organisational and time management skills and a high level of attention to detail. You will be hands on, flexible and a self motivated individual who knows how to "make events happen". Exceptional customer service and the ability to manage stakeholders, suppliers and project teams will be paramount for this role.

Salary: $76,073 - $88,409 plus superannuation.
