Charters Towers Regional Council is looking for a passionate and experienced financial leader for this newly created key corporate position.
Council is based in Charters Towers, an easy 90 minute drive inland from Townsville.
Charters Towers is a regional centre for several major industries including mining, beef, tourism and education. It has many renowned attractions including historical sites, adventures, fabulous walks and drives with an outstanding country lifestyle on offer.
Council is focused on delivering quality services and is financially sound, with a total budget of $67.3M and 220 staff.
This new key position has responsibility for Finance and Accounting (including budgets, financial statements, cost management, financial reporting and rating), Information Technology and Procurement.
The successful applicant will bring relevant experience in the key functions of the role along with well-developed Leadership skills and an attitude aligned with Council’s Values.
