The Role and You
The role of Manager Land Use Planning requires a strong leader who can bring-together, develop and inspire a team of planning professionals. With a strong technical background in Land Use (or Strategic) Planning you and your team will develop policy and standards, requiring a thorough understanding of NSW planning legislation, and an ability to monitor, interpret and advise on industry trends, legislation and regulatory frameworks.
As a leader of planning professionals you will develop and foster a culture of land use planning that anticipates and is responsive to changing government imperatives, land use planning processes, climate change and environment.
As an organisational leader you will be responsible for working with and influencing to contribute to a positive land use planning framework.
As the Manager of a team you will be responsible for getting the best out of those who work with you, with a team focus on open-mindedness, flexibility and continuous improvement.
A remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. This package will include a vehicle option.
You will be initially based at Council’s Taree or Forster offices, working from other sites as required. Council is planning to move to new offices in Taree South in early 2021.
