MidCoast Council is a workplace designed for high-performing employees. We value, support and develop those who are committed to delivering positive outcomes for our community. We empower those who bring a “can-do” attitude and who have the courage to make mistakes and learn from them. We strive for continuous improvement in everything we do. Our community is our customer and is at the centre of everything we do.
Right now we are investing heavily in our organisation, and our staff. In early 2021 we will be moving our administration staff into a brand new office in Taree South. We are implementing a single integrated enterprise resource planning solution to enable us to realise efficiencies for our staff and community.
The Role and You
The role of Manager Engagement, Communication and Education is an opportunity for a strategic thinker. Someone who can identify our organisational needs, plan the resources needed to deliver, and provide and implement a “direction” for both our organisation as well as the Engagement, Communication and Education Team.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all engagement, communication and education strategies align with MidCoast Council’s strategic vision, to ensure the projection of a positive and professional image of the organisation.
As an organisational leader you will be responsible for working with and influencing others across Council to develop, deliver and promote Council’s corporate identity and narrative. This includes ensuring the engagement, communication and education is central to Council’s operational approach.
As the Manager of a team you will be responsible for developing and shaping your team to ensure Council is able to deliver on its engagement, communication and education goals.
We are looking for someone who keeps our community centre of mind, is able to inspire direction and purpose in those they work with, and will lead from the front.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Engagement, Communication, and/or Education or another relevant discipline
- Extensive professional experience in communications, media, community engagement, education or a related field, including experience leading a team and influencing an organisation
A remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. This package will include a vehicle option.
You will be initially based at Council’s Taree offices, working from other sites as required. Council is planning to move to new offices in Taree South in early 2021.
If you are passionate and looking to make an impact this is an opportunity not to be missed.
