$107,749 to $120,258 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience. A leaseback vehicle is available for this position.

About the role

Council is seeking a pro-active, enthusiastic Senior Building Certifier who has outstanding organisational skills and who has demonstrated knowledge in building certification, fire safety, land-use planning, swimming pool safety, compliance and the regulatory functions that follow the building certification legislative framework.

In this role, you will utilise your extensive knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, Local Government Act 1993, Swimming Pools Act 1992, National Construction Code and other delegated NSW legislation.

Position requirements

You will hold qualifications recognised by NSW Building Commission for registration as a Building Certifier, have relevant practical experience and a valid NSW Drivers Licence.

About you

The successful applicant will work closely with the Building Certifications Team Leader proactively keeping them informed on Building Certification matters including Building Information Certificates, Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates, Swimming Pool Barrier inspections and Fire Safety. You will be required to mentor staff, utilising sound negotiation, building certification and regulatory skills to deliver outcomes in line with Council's Operational Plan and Delivery Program.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to negotiate, mediate and problem-solve complex matters.
