Salary
$73,476 to $82,284 per annum (based on 76 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9-day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the role
The Hornsby Park precinct Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and presentation of one of our region’s largest and new public parks. This role is responsible for coordinating a team of staff and contractors, ensuring high standards of safety, visitor experience, and environmental management across the precinct. The role will;
- To provide safe and enjoyable facilities for the public at Lisgar Gardens, Hornsby Park & Hornsby CBD area by maintaining gardens, grounds and bushland to agreed standard and within budget.
- Supervise work, & work with crews and contractors to ensure that the maintenance of Lisgar Gardens & Hornsby Park, trees, lawns, gardens and amenities is carried out for the safety and enjoyment of others
- To plan, implement and monitor the quality and efficiency of various maintenance programmes
- Lead a small team, assisting in staff performance management as required, including the annual appraisal/review process
- Use, care and maintenance of resources on a work site, including tools, plant and equipment, are used in a safe, efficient, appropriate and responsible manner
- Observe and implement as appropriate all Council determinations including code of Conduct, EEO and WH&S
About you
We are seeking an experienced and motivated leader who has;
- Certificate 3 in Horticulture
- Demonstrated experience in the horticultural field
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Previous experience at a supervisory level in parks and public area maintenance
- Sound knowledge in plant identification
- Sound knowledge in the use of small plant operation and maintenance
- Work safely in the Construction industry (white card)
- Current senior first aid certificate
- Current C class license
- Current chemcert training AQF3
- Current working with children check
