Are you ready to take your accounting expertise to the next level? As the Statutory Accountant, you have the exciting opportunity to coordinate and maintain the timely and accurate delivery of statutory reporting services to the organisation, including financial statements. Find personal and professional growth by providing accurate financial accounting services and advice to internal stakeholders. You will be the principle contact with the external auditor and play a pivotal role in ensuring all statutory accounting requirements are met. As a hands-on leader, you'll maintain high standards across all financial operations while fostering a collaborative environment where each team member can thrive.
You'll find growth through:
- Preparing Statutory Reports annually
- Ensuring assets are accounted for correctly
- Ensuring external Audit programme is achieved annually
- Managing and coordinating the Statutory Accounting and Accounts Payable Team
About You:
You have strong leadership qualities and are able to support your team, while also working independently. You have demonstrated experience in delivering accounting advice and services, with a strong attention to detail, and ability to identify and prioritise issues to ensure tasks are completed in a timely matter. You are competent in Microsoft Office and Cloud based accounting systems.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor in Accounting or related discipline
- Extensive experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated strategic leadership skills
- Thorough knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, NSW Local Government Code of Accounting Practice and NSW Local Government Asset Accounting Manual
- Sound written and oral communication skills and project management skills
- Advanced Excel and database query skills

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $110,345 to $128,239
