Our Development Assessment and Compliance team is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and driven Town Planner to play a vital role in supporting the development application process.
About the role:
- process development applications and related matters under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act
- prepare Local Environmental Plans amendments, policies, Development Control Plans and other aspects of strategic planning
- manage the Development Assessment process including recommending the application for approval/refusal and associated follow-up processes
- provide excellent customer service to our stakeholders, providing advice on environmental planning instruments and policy matters.

We are seeking:
- degree or post-graduate Town Planning qualification
- competence and experience in the assessment of development applications within a local government framework
- understanding of the assessment of development applications
- excellent communication skills
- the ability to prioritise and handle conflicting deadlines.

Where it's located:
This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
